Sales Manager

JOB SUMMARY

 The Sales Manager is responsible for generating new and repeat business from groups and local corporate clients, to include selling guest rooms, meeting rooms and function space, banquet and catering services and additional services such as golf, spa, and tennis.

 JOB DUTIES

  • Receives sales leads via telephone, email and walk-ins. Provides information about the property, answers questions and schedules appointments.
  • Meets with potential clients to discuss needs; conducts tours of the property and negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rentals, function space and hotel services within approved booking guidelines, and secures business.
  • Prepares sales contracts for all confirmed business.   
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clients and potential clients, to include attending client functions, community events, and networking events.
  • Entertains qualified clients per department guidelines.
  • Travels via car and plane to assigned markets to solicit business.
  • Attends and represents the hotel at industry trade shows and conventions.
  • Composes and types routine correspondence, reports, sales contracts and business proposals.
  • Uses Marriott sales system to document and track business.
  • Works closely with operational team to ensure customer satisfaction with events.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of hotel sales experience
  • Experience working at a Marriott property a plus

 SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and sales system software
  • Knowledge of the city and local/regional attractions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, hear, listen, talk, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions

JOB SUMMARY

 Leads and manages the day-to-day sales and marketing activities of the hotel with a focus on maximizing profitability and building long-term customer relationships. Develops and implements sales and marketing strategies to secure new corporate, group and transient/leisure business and maintain existing accounts. Oversees and assists the sales team in selling meeting and guest rooms, catering services and banquet facilities.

 JOB DUTIES

  • Directs the daily activities of a sales team of 6 - 8 team members. Mentors, coaches and provides support on larger and/or more complex accounts.
  • Makes sales calls, schedules in-person appointments and conducts hotel site tours to secure business.
  • Develops and implements property-wide marketing and sales strategies to increase market share and RevPAR.
  • Develops and monitors team member and department sales goals.
  • Prepares and manages the annual department budget. Monitors the property's sales performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established plan and to accurately report variances.
  • Interfaces with regional marketing communications for regional and national promotions pull through.
  • Attends community and business-related events (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, trade associations) in order to develop relationships with community groups, associations and companies to increase brand/product awareness.
  • Evaluates the property's participation in the various sales channels (e.g., area sales, group sales, electronic lead channels) and develops strong working relationships to proactively position and market the property.
  • Maintains awareness of the hotel's market position by reviewing competitive shopping reports, researching competitors' sales strategies and related activities.
  • Generates proposals, writes contracts, and prepares customer correspondence.
  • Assists with developing and updating sales collateral.
  • Implements a seamless turnover from sales to operations to ensure delivery of a consistent high level of service.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly sales reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, hotel & restaurant management or related field preferred
  • 4+ years luxury hotel sales and marketing experience
  • Supervisory experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally on a regular basis and on a national basis occasionally
  • Proficient computer experience using Microsoft Office
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Quail Hollow Club Job Description

 

Title:

Event and Banquet Coordinator

Reports to:

Event Planner

 

Summary of Position: 

Oversee all administrative processes for the department and assists in planning, directing, coordinating, promoting and managing the club’s social activities. Position will work with Event Planner and team to ensure that all member and guests expectations are exceeded to enhance their overall enjoyment of the club.    

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  •   Eager to learn and be a team player who takes pride in themselves and their job performance
  •   A hands on approach is essential
  • Maintains a positive work attitude and highly organized self-starter
  • Assists in arranging events for the club’s dining facilities for private banquets, business and social meetings and other member-related activities
  • Supports Event Planner in keeping accurate Banquet Event Orders for each event
  • Assists in arranging all event needs, including but not limited to decorations, flowers, linen, rental equipment, staging, entertainment, menu cards, and audio-visual needs for  private events, club events, or special dining room requests
  • Assists in planning, promoting and generating enthusiasm and interest for the club’s diverse social programs
  • Present to oversee the greeting and serving of the guests for both private and club events
  • Contributes to revenue growth opportunities and ensures timely, accurate invoice processing, banquet billing and arranges for prompt payment for all events
  • Serves as liaison between the kitchen, service staff and management
  • Prepares all materials pertaining to and attends weekly banquet meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications:

  •          A minimum of one year of experience of assisting with event planning is preferred and general knowledge of the private club industry’s food and beverage operations is preferred
  •          Experience with Microsoft Office, Jonas Club Management Software is preferred
  •          Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are necessary
  •          Must be very detail-oriented
  •          Confident at speaking with members on a daily basis
  •          Must be flexible to accommodate irregular or extended hours and duties

 

Physical Requirements:

  •          Must be able to climb stairs
  •          Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  •          Constantly walks, stands, reaches, bends, sits, carries and stoops
